Half Day Nature / Wildlife Watching River Cruise

Palo Verde National Park encompasses one of the most important wetlands of Central America.

Throughout the year the rivers, mangroves, marshlands of resident and migrant water birds sharing their world of land and water are animals such as white – tailed deer, coyote, white nosed coatimundi, howler and white faced monkey, iguanas and crocodiles. Wildlife is plentiful from tiny hummingbirds feeding at heliconia flowers, to huge and flamboyant pink Roseate Spoonbills.

Enjoy a changing countryside of savannahs, plantations and little villages on your way to the pontoon boat, that is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to explore Palo Verde, on the Tempisque River which borders the National Park.

The tour passes through a wide variety of habitats, including pastureland and mangroves. Observe huge crocodiles resting under the sun, monkeys moving quickly in the trees, and diverse bird species such as the Anhinga (Snake Bird), Roseate Spoonbill, Wood Storks, the endangered and rare Jabiru (largest bird in Central America), Blue Herons, White Ibis, and more.

A $5.00 contribution to the Bolsón community is included in the tour when you book
